In the modern society, go along with the boom of internet,
mass media is the leading mean of information transmission. People are spending
hours per 24-hour day on watching television programs, listening to the radio or
reading newspapers. This fact therefore raises a controversial issue that
whether mass media shapes the ideas of observers or not. From my view point, i
am in the same side with this statement.
Broasdcast media is one of the most reputable adresses for
collecting information in almost different
fields of life such as education, health care, economy and so on. With
the professional staffs, broadcasting station have efforts to select and edit the best
issues from the best sources to transmit
to people. Moreover, they also invite
the high- ranking experts in different fields to share their knowleage,
experiences, researches. Hence, that amount of information is a faithful source
to shape ideas in each person.
People are receiving a huge amount of information from mass
media every day. It is easy to approach any broadcast programs or articles whenever, whever people want. Instead
of sitting on the sofa, obsevers could watch televisions on subways,
listen to public radio on the bus and read newspapers by their own mobile phones. Moreover, beholders could be proactive to
observe any necessary programs, articles bases on flexible broadcasting
schedules which would be announced after that a few days. People are therefore naturally absorbing the
huge databases which could be used to form ideas.
What i have discussed above shows my point of view that mass
media has mainly contributed in forming people’s ideas. People should also be
proactive to select useful programs, articles to observe as well as the most
suitable time for watching, listening and reading. It would bring inovative ideas to everyone without too much time
-consuming.
